Off-Campus Accomodations

New Haven hotels sell out early. If you have access to a vehicle, you may consider a hotel or home rental in the greater New Haven area. Towns like Hamden, Branford, West Haven, Milford and Orange are all within a short driving distance.

On-Campus Accommodations

Registration will open for 2021 in November. Historically we have been able to accomodate all guests who wish to stay on-campus, however we encourage you to reserve your space by mid-winter. Please review the information below regarding the accomodations. For detailed instructions on using the registration site, download the guide.

You may check in any time after 10:00 a.m. on Saturday before Commencmenet.  It is extremely important that you vacate your room by noon on Tuesday.  The University requires immediate access at that time to prepare for alumni reunions.  We are unable to make any exceptions to this date and time.

Description of On-Campus Accommodations

All on-campus housing is in the residential college dormitories.  Families and guests of Yale College will be housed in their graduate’s residential college.  In the residential colleges, the bathrooms located in common hallway and your room key will open the door.  Graduate student families and guests will be housed graduate housing or in the first-year dorms on Old Campus, where our guests may share a suite with a common living room with other guests.  Old Campus dorms share a common in-suite bathroom which does not have a lockable door.

Bedrooms in all buildings are furnished with single beds, dressers, desks, and chairs.  Rooms will be cleaned, and beds will be made up with linens, a blanket, and a pillow.  Three towels per person will also be provided.  Please be sure to bring any other personal toiletries.  No daily maid service will be provided during your stay.

Fees and Payment

$190 per person; this flat fee covers your entire stay of one, two, or three nights.

Reservations may be made online using a credicard. If you are unable to make the payment using a credit card, please contact the Commencement Housing Office.

Each suite door and most bedroom doors open with a key, which will be provided to you at check-in. In addition, an electronic access device (or proxy card), also provided at check-in, is required to enter the buildings.

Special Needs

Please let us know as soon as possible if a family member or guest has a disability that requires special accommodation. Due to limited room availability, note that the person requiring a lower floor will be housed with one other family member only. Remaining family members may be housed on an upper floor. Elevators are not available in most buildings.
